Well, I’ll be damned. Maya Hawke partners up with Camila Mendes in a winner take all scheme of petty revenge. There aren’t many better teen movies out there about taking down your current, and past childhood enemy. While most teen movies have some sort of conflict between friends, I haven't seen may of them with quite and upending twist that we get here. This movie takes a close look at how childhood trauma can affect people long after the trauma happened. It’s not something people just get over, it shapes them. Not only that, but it also explores the idea of the poor kid in a rich school, surviving the elite social life, showing what it’s like to be tormented by your peers and so much more. It was well thought out, and plenty of fun to see Maya outside of stranger things.

This movie gets a rise to 4 Slices, check it out on Netflix.

Fresh, there's certainly nothing that would draw me away from watching this again if it was something that was offered. The movie is a lot of fun, the teens do a great job of pissing off my old ass through various shenanigans and backstabbing. Ultimately, it’s just a good story though it lacks anything unique that would make it stick out.

There isn't much visual to the movie besides your typical lighting, and editing which was done well.

Unfortunately, not really. There are hundreds of teen movies out there, and this follows a lot of the same tropes as always, and while it was done successfully the “twist” isn’t exactly unique and can be seen anywhere.

Definitely worth the watch if you're looking for a teen drama on the opposite end of American Pie with a focus on friendships, betrayal and earning respect vs your typical teen sex comedy affair.
